If....

Have you ever had one of those moment when you are sick of everything and everyone and the best option is to just go to the north pole and live alone with human contact only once in one or two weeks when it would be really necessary.Or maybe in a warmer place like a tropical island. You can just hang out around the beach with nothing to care about and no one to bother you.You can take your SPF 50 for UVA and UVB and not worry about the sun and just drink cocktails from pineapples all day.You wouldn't have to straighten your hair every day or worry about what outfit you are going to wear tomorrow. You can just apply deep conditioners to your hair and moisturisers to your skin to repair it.You wouldn't have timetable and you can wake up or go to bed whenever you want but somehow there would be Internet connection on that island so you can browse through style blogs all day or just play video games.then after a month you would come back to the city all refreshed and with all the money you've saved while on that island which you can use to buy a brand new wardrobe and reinvent your style into something completely different.
If I had money to reinvent my wardrobe Id probably buy lots of skirts and dresses as well as crop tops and T-shirts.I would buy a gold watch(not form real gold, maybe a Casio one) and tons of accessories and hats and hairbands.I would buy knit jerseys and cardigans and a leather jacket(yes i know Its compulsory in everyone s wardrobe but they are so expensive I never got the chance to buy one).I would buy a pair of creepers and a pair of biker boots as well as some normal ones with laces, high and medium lenght.I would probably buy a few blazers in different colours and some leather leggings and some playsuits as well as pastel embellished tops and lots of pastel coloured socks which I would wear with platform sandals from River Island.Oh and I almost forgot,I would buy a lace dress in red maybe.I don't care if they are almost out of fashion and wont be around next season i still want one.And i would probably buy lots of jewellery from Vivienne Westwood and a dress from Christopher Kane and a Topshop dip dyed denim jacket.

Taylor Momsen

Need very badly a skirt in my wardrobe. It may sound weird but I don't own any skirts and my style really needs a refresh since I wear skinny jeans all the time. The thing is I didn't buy any skirts for the past few years cause my mom would always say I'm never going to wear them:Its true I m kind of a tomboy and I avoid looking feminine(at all) but there is something about skirts,if worn the right way they still look feminine in a way but kind of edgy and bad ass so I guess this compensates. When I turned seventeen( one month and a half ago) I took a vow(a more informal one) to start taking risks with my style which I haven't really kept but I m saving money like mad to get myself a skirt in H&M.So I'm doing my best.I also own a dress but I don't know what to wear it with on more casual occasions so Ive actually never worn it and It s a quite gorgeous dress so shame on me but the thing is its a sleeveless dress and I never wear sleeveless tops without a jacket to go over them so I need a good enough jacket for this one. Also I was thinking of getting a pair of  tailored shorts but I m not sure they have my size left.Anyways those are pictures of my current style aspirations.

Good old Jenny Humphrey when she was still relevant to the show. She used to have some pretty awesome outfits to boot, her style used to be sort of glam grunge with an youthful edge and she really stood out from the other characters.Im quite obsessed with the outfit above.Btw that diamond hairband was 700$ alone.

I'm loving her style circa 2009,I like how she(well it might be her stylist I'm not sure) would add a pop of pink to her outfits to brighten them up a bit. Also her hairstyle was probably her best one yet,I'm not very fond of her extensions. I used to be quite obsessed with her in 2010 so I was annoyed with her when she started to dress so trashy, especially since she had great style. But with an amazing album like Light Me Up I'm happy she went that way. Before I just taught of her as a pretty girl with a perfect life and with an amazing wardrobe I'm guessing but then I just started to see her as an actual artist,I gave her credibility.I think Ive listened to each one of her songs and her band is the first one from which I like pretty much all the songs though my favourite has to be Just Tonight.

OK Ive deviated a bit form the subject but the idea is that she knows how to wear dresses and skirts well and make them look edgy but I ll have to make a part 2 for this post.

Magazines part 1

So I ve always been hooked magazines.
I started at a very young age with Barbie Magazine and it was kinda helpful cause I learnt how to read before I even started school and when I got bored of it I started reading W.i.t.c.h. magazine and it became quite an obsession.I had to buy it every month as well as any other thing in shops related to it like pencil cases or books (which were so short I d finish them in a day).Apart from that I think it was quite an amazing publication.I used to spend a lot of time trying to draw the characters and even trying to create comic strips myself( which was a lot of hard work btw but i managed to make a 2 page one), as well as trying to imitate them in real life with my friends(I was usually Irma). They also had creative contests like make your own comic strip(see that's where I got the idea)-and they would give you guidelines as well, design outfits for the characters or make a drawing of your wardrobe with labels showing your most precious possessions or the ones with the most sentimental value.
In case you ve never read W.i.t.c.h. mag here is some background information on it.
W.i.t.c.h. is a comic series about a group of teenage girls-Will,Irma,Taranee,Cornelia and Hay Lin(the name of the mag comes from their initials obviously)-who,you guessed it,have magical powers.Their powers correspond with elements of nature-water,fire,air,earth- each girl having the power of a different element while Will who is also their leader has the power to bound them together. As well as saving the world in their free time the girls also have to deal with normal teenage problems like school, boyfriends and parents at home where no one knows about their powers.

What is cool about W.i.t.c.h. is that each girl is different with her own style and personality(kinda like the Spice Girls) but somehow they don t fall into stereotypes and their characters are well developed throughout the series.Obviously the first thing you notice about them is their style of clothing or their most evident personality trait but as they go through different adventures together you realise theres more to them than that.
When the girls transform into witches they have some epic costumes-think edgy/pixie/warrior-colour coordinated with the addition of some pixie wings.Their enemies are quite fierce as well,my favourite being Nerissa-i think that was her name-an 100yr old witch who still looked around 20 who would appear in the girls nightmares literally, where they had to fight her.

While the mags target audience were mainly preteens the stories were very well written not too childish or too serious, with just the right amount of drama. They put emphasis on their normal teenage problems as well as their responsibilities as witches. Many teenagers would read them as well which made me very proud to be a fan.The artwork was quite amazing for a kids mag as you can see in the pics.
I stopped reading W.i.t.c.h mag when I was around 11 or 12 and it was a gradual process,by that time it started to lose it s appeal and the story writers seemed to have run out of ideas.
Anyways I still think you can draw inspiration from the characters style.

Will is more of a tomboy and comfort is the most important thing for her especially when she is riding her bike or when shes going to swimming practice but this doesn't mean her style is boring. She is sporty and loves colour so she would be quite on trend these days.

Irma s style is all about being fun and quirky. Her favourite colour is turquoise which she wears quite often and she loves accessories like funky hair clips and bracelets. She also wears multiple earrings. To channel her style always look like you re ready for a concert and have some witty lines prepared as well ;)

Taranee s style is a lot like her element, fiery. She loves retro pieces,Aztec prints and often wears scarves in her hair.

Cornelia s style is very lady like with a youthful edge drawing inspiration from her hobby, ice skating. She likes midi skirts, pastel colours for special occasions and berets.

Hay Lin has a passion for fashion which is reflected in her style. Her style is fun, girlie and she tends to wear purple quite a lot.
